The entire Tramway was re-vamped in 2000, but the sign at the bottom of the mountain remains untouched. It’s nice that some things never change.

The picture on the left is a bird’s eye view of Palm Springs. On the right, the Sentinels of the valley floor live in Wind Farms. They are very impressive when viewed from their level. From here, they look like toothpicks.

Had lunch at Mariposas in Palm Springs. Good Mexican fare. The menu included Ceviche Mariposa. I thought ceviche was supposed to be seafood… I liked the fountain on Palm Canyon Drive.

Much to my astonishment, KnuckleHeadQ has now accused me of using the same orchid picture in each of the last two posts. First he calls the orchid plastic, now he calls me deceptive. Whatever shall we do with him?

On the way back from Palm Springs, I stopped at Trader Joe’s Market and snapped a photo of my orchid’s brothers, sisters, cousins and kinfolk. Traders always has a great variety from which to choose.

Still no change in my orchid’s flowers. But that larger bloom you see there is the oldest, so she’ll be the first to go.

Very old and bad joke, but still funny at a cocktail party. My sister Paige and I went to lunch together today to celebrate her impending sixteenth birthday (this Wednesday). She chose her favorite restaurant: Red Lobster

The lobster tank is just inside the restaurant’s front door. You can actually choose the lobster you’d like to eat. Why do we do this? The hostess was at her position near the front door. I looked at the lobster tank, I looked at the hostess and I asked, “Do they all have names?” She looked at me as if I also belonged in the tank.

Paige and I waited about five minutes for our table. During the wait and with Paige at my side, I started giving names to each and every lobster. Paige was unimpressed and ordered a lobster tail for lunch.

As you can see from today’s orchid picture, the lovely plant is very much unchanged from yesterday. In a private conversation, KnuckelHeadQ rightly pointed out that we won’t actually be watching the orchid die, only her flowers. Perhaps DQ is admitting that the orchid is not plastic? Nah… that would be too easy.

We’ll be watching the orchid which graces my Train Station over the next few days. Sadly, we will all witness her slow death, just to prove to KnuckleHeadQ that she is NOT plastic.

On the way back home I saw this truck on the freeway and snapped a picture. Now I ask ya… why aren’t these things being shipped by train?

Today I have discovered the meaning of life. It isn’t pretty and I don’t wish for anyone else on the planet to ever make the discovery.

My work here is done.
